2 Positions: Mechanical or Electrical Engineers Coop Students
Salary: $15 p/h
Shift: DAYTIME
Department: Mechanical Maintenance Department / Technical Services Department
Location: Peñuelas
Mechanical Engineer Coop Student Report to: Mechanical Maintenance Department
- Will help to develop a lubrication and operation valve program, specifying valve pressure, temperature or operational conditions
- Recognize common and generally routine problems of low complexity when they occur
- Use standard techniques, theories and tools to identify and develop solutions to basic technical problems of low complexity
- Plans equipment layout, material flow, and measures to maintain efficient and safe utilization of resources and equipment on projects assigned
- Work with “Work order back log” and “Technical outages Reporting”
- On-the-job experience: Working independently as well as part of a high-performing team while having an end-to-end ownership of a distinct deliverable that has a direct impact on the business while actively participating on day-today activities.
Minimum Requirements: GPA 3.20 +
- 3rd, 4th, or 5th – year Mechanical Engineering student
- Previous internship experience or a project relevant to the job would be an asset
- Fully Bilingual (both oral and written).
- Approved Courses in: Heat transfer, Thermodynamics II, Design of Machine Elements I, II, Corrosion (Priority will be given to students with Corrosion course approved)
Knowledge, skills, abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- High level of initiative and strong desire to drive new ideas, components, and solutions into the project teams
- Ability to complete engineering tasks as directed by others and apply accurate documentation practices
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Analytical approach to problem-solving
Mechanical/ Electrical Engineer Coop Student Report to: Technical Services Department
- Regular tasks will include, reading and reviewing mechanical and technical drawings
- Support for technical services for the planning and development of outputs programmed for major equipment reaches for 2024
- Will provide support to the resources designing systems and modifications to existing plant equipment
- Help to develop and document current efforts towards 2024 Capital Projects as approved to be implemented
- Will help and support in the implementation of formal/digital structure of plant Mechanical Integrity tasks with written procedures (SOPs) and current periodicities of various programs
- Will interface with the following type of equipment: Turbine, Generators, Valves, Pumps, Motors, Heat Exchangers, Actuators, Instruments , Other auxiliaries and utilities related devices
Minimum Requirements: GPA 3.20 +
- Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Student
- Previous experience in an internship or a project relevant to the job
- Fully Bilingual (both oral and written)
Knowledge, skills, abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Detail oriented and possess excellent follow up skills
- Knowledge of computer application software (training will be provided if needed)
- Must be organized and work well with constant priority changes
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
